Riley Taylor
Exercise Physiologist

Where did you study?
University of Wollongong (UOW)

What inspired you to become an exercise physiologist?
I have always enjoyed being active throughout my life, and have played or been involved in sport growing up. When it came to finding a career that I would enjoy, I wanted to be part of something that would allow me to use my passion for sport, movement and exercise to work with other people. Working in an industry that I enjoy and am naturally involved in allows me to get the best out of myself and better dedicate myself to helping others work towards their own health goals.

What are your areas of expertise and special interest?
Sports and Post surgical rehabilitation - I have experienced both of these areas personally, which has brought about my interest in both.

What's your favourite part of working with clients?
I love seeing the positive impact that personalised exercise programs can have on people's lives. Whether it’s helping someone improve their strength, manage pain, or achieve their fitness goals, I love being part of their journey and celebrating the small victories along the way. Every client is unique, and I truly enjoy the process of tailoring programs that meet their specific needs and challenges, while building trust and a supportive relationship throughout their progress.

What's one piece of advice you give to almost every client?
Something is always better than nothing!

How do you stay active and healthy in your own life?
I love the sport of AFL, and have played for many years, along with doing my own weight and gym training when I can. Balancing these can be hard at times, but I stick to the advice above!

What's something people might be surprised to learn about you?
While I may not be an expert, I have a deep passion for the world of coffee, especially the home barista experience.
