Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy can help you reduce pain, recover from injury, improve movement, and get back to the activities that matter to you.

At Brown & Ross Exercise Physiology, our physiotherapy services provide individualised, one-on-one treatment based on your condition, goals, and current level of function. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing ongoing pain, rehabilitating after surgery, or simply not moving as well as you’d like, we’ll work with you to develop a practical treatment plan focused on lasting improvement.

Who Is Physiotherapy For?

Physiotherapy is suitable for people of all ages and activity levels. We commonly assist people with:

  • Back and neck pain

  • Shoulder, knee, hip, ankle and other joint pain

  • Muscle, tendon and ligament injuries

  • Sports and exercise-related injuries

  • Post-operative rehabilitation

  • Work-related injuries

  • Reduced mobility, strength or balance

  • Persistent or recurring pain

  • General aches, stiffness and movement limitations

Whether your goal is to return to work, sport, exercise, everyday activities, or simply move with less pain, treatment will be tailored to what you want to achieve.

How Can Physiotherapy Help?

Physiotherapy looks beyond simply treating the painful area. Your physiotherapist will assess your movement, strength, mobility and function to help identify factors that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Depending on your needs, treatment may include:

  • Hands-on manual therapy

  • Massage and soft tissue techniques

  • Dry needling

  • Joint mobilisation

  • Stretching and mobility exercises

  • Strength and rehabilitation exercises

  • Balance and movement retraining

  • Education and strategies for managing pain

  • Individualised home exercise programs

Your treatment will be adjusted as you progress, with the aim of improving your capacity and helping you become less reliant on ongoing treatment where appropriate.

From Treatment to Rehabilitation

For many injuries, reducing pain is only the first step.

As your symptoms improve, we can progressively build your strength, mobility and confidence to help reduce the likelihood of recurring problems and prepare you for the demands of everyday life, work, sport or exercise.

With both Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology available through Brown & Ross, we can provide a smooth pathway from early treatment and injury management through to more advanced exercise rehabilitation and long-term strength and conditioning.

Individualised One-on-One Care

Physiotherapy appointments are provided as professional one-on-one treatment, giving your physiotherapist time to understand your condition, assess your movement and develop treatment around your individual needs.

Your treatment plan may change over time as your symptoms, capacity and goals change.

We welcome clients who are self-funding or accessing physiotherapy through eligible funding and insurance pathways, including:

  • Private health insurance

  • Medicare

  • WorkCover

  • CTP insurance

  • DVA

  • NDIS, where appropriate

Eligibility and referral requirements can vary depending on the funding pathway.

Getting Started

You don’t need a referral to see our physiotherapist if you’re attending privately.

Your first appointment will involve discussing your symptoms and goals, assessing the affected area and developing an appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plan.

Whether you’re dealing with a new injury, recovering from surgery, or have been managing pain for some time, we’ll help you work towards moving better, feeling stronger and returning to the activities that are important to you.
